I made so fun, interactive easel cards using Spectacular Christmas Collection from Spellbinders.
I’ve combined cute, playful movements that look full of excitement with an easel card that lets you display them. When you set it up as an easel, the message appears.
I’ll explain how the pull tab works to make the face and body move when you slide it sideways. Since this card doesn’t use any fasteners, you can feel safe sending it to families with children or pets.
1)Base sheet for attaching the decorations (Small Arch Die Cut): Punch a 1-centimeter-diameter hole where the center of the head and the center of the body of characters such as Santa, penguins, and reindeer would be.
2)Draw a circle with a diameter of 1 cm inside a circle with a diameter of 2 cm. Below that, draw a bar that is approximately 5 mm wide and 2 cm long. (In the photo, it shows 2.5 cm, but I’ve corrected it to 2 cm.)
Cut these out. Make a cut-out rivet so that the red line extends slightly beyond the inner circle. Make bars of the same thickness and stack them on top of each other to reinforce the structure.
Bar
3)Thread the left and right panels of the rivets through the holes, respectively.
4)Make a 1-inch by 4-inch pull tab.
Make two slits in the center, just wide enough for the bar to fit through, and pull it toward you.
5)Thread the bar through from the top and bottom. Thread the pull tab through the belt so that it slides straight sideways, and secure it in place.
3) Apply glue to the bottom part of the U-shaped pop-up and attach it to the center of the belt you made in Step 1.
4)Stamp snowflake designs onto a transparent sheet using “StazOn PIGMENT Snowflakes.”
5)Apply glue to the back of the arch and attach it there.
6) Apply adhesive paper tape to the seam between the belt and the arch. (Cellophane tape is also fine.) Since I want to hide the back side, I'll attach a die-cut arch of the same size.
7) For the easel, on a 1-inch × 3-inch piece of paper, make 0.5-inch folds at the top and bottom, then die-cut one side of the arch’s apex. Attach a 2-inch × 2-inch piece of paper—the same size as the center section—to reinforce it.

Today, I created a fun, interactive card full of personality using Spellbinders’ new July release, the Spectacular Christmas Collection. The animals in this collection feature layered dies that share dies across sets, so you can enjoy a variety of designs depending on how you combine them.
Since the animal figures are included in the “Spectacular Bear Etched Dies ” set, you should definitely get your hands on it.
Today, I’d like to introduce an interactive card that, when opened, features cute die-cut figures of penguins, reindeer, and Santa Claus that sway from side to side.
Decorated with ear muffs, Christmas glasses, and string lights—all brimming with Christmas spirit—these cards bring out the adorable charm of the penguin and reindeer. When you open the card, the figures pop up and sway gently, creating a truly delightful piece. For the Santa card, I used a mechanism that makes it pop up even higher.
Contrary to what the covers suggest, all of these cards offer a delightful surprise as the scenery suddenly shifts from a winter scene to summer. Inspired by the “Christmas in July” theme, I incorporated a summery atmosphere into the background.
First, for the penguin card, use the Make A Wish Arch Labels die to cut arch-shaped windows in the cover and card base.
For the background of the cover, I used a snow-embossed folder and a snowflake die.
For the reindeer card, I used several dies from the “Scallop Labels and Tag” set to create colorful windows. I decorated around the reindeer's antlers with the string lights die from the “Classic Mouse Holiday Wreath Etched Dies” set.
When you open it, the glasses and earmuffs disappear, giving way to a refreshing summer scene of penguin swimming in a pool while holding a swim ring. The monstera plants and flowers in the background were created using the “Tropical Flair” die.
I die-cut foam sheets into the shapes of Monstera leaves and other leaves, made stamps out of them, and stamped them onto the background. By stamping them first, I created a level difference with the die-cut leaves, which adds depth.
The mechanism that makes the penguin’s face rotate when you open the card forms the base of the pop-up shown in the photo. Cut along the red lines, fold the champagne glass section in half, and glue the diagonal triangular pieces together. Then, glue them in place so that they overlap with the diagonal triangular pieces on the base.
I’m going to create a background to attach to the project.
I die-cut the arch from the “Make A Wish Arch Labels ” set halfway through, then die-cut the other side to create an oval shape. I tapped a postcard-sized rubber stamp (for eraser stamps) with Varsa Fine Clair Bali Blue ink and sprayed it with anhydrous alcohol. I placed it in the die-cutting machine, positioned the paper on top, and ran it through. This created a water-like background.

Make A Wish Arch Labels
Die-cut a hole in the background base, thread the mechanism’s base through the hole from below, and apply glue to secure it. I then attached the penguin’s head to this, but since I wanted the body to swing, I first attached a swing hook with a hole in it to the body before attaching the penguin’s head.
